Diwali celebrations at our Edgware Nursery
This Diwali, we were thrilled to embrace the spirit of the festival with not only vibrant celebrations at our nursery but also a special outing to attend a captivating Diwali play at Krishna Avanti School. This visit was particularly exciting as it marked the beginning of a new and meaningful partnership with the school. The children were delighted to experience the play, which beautifully depicted the essence of Diwali and left them thoroughly engaged and inspired.
Back at the nursery, we continued the festivities with our much-anticipated annual Diwali party. The celebration brought together children, parents, and staff to enjoy a variety of engaging and culturally enriching activities. The children enthusiastically participated in crafting their own Diyas, designing intricate rangoli patterns, and creating colourful Diwali cards, all of which helped them connect with the traditions and artistry of the festival.
A highlight of the day was the application of mehndi (henna), where a skilled henna artist adorned children and parents with beautiful, intricate designs, adding a touch of elegance to the celebrations. Parents also joined in the festive spirit by participating in Garba, a traditional dance, creating a lively and joyous atmosphere that filled the nursery with energy and laughter.
To complete the celebration, we shared a delicious spread of Indian food, offering everyone a taste of authentic Flavors associated with the festival. The combination of creative activities, cultural experiences, and shared joy made the day truly special for everyone involved.
At our Nursery, we cherish the opportunity to celebrate diverse festivals like Diwali, fostering an appreciation for cultural traditions and strengthening the sense of community among children, families, and staff. This year’s Diwali festivities were a testament to the joy of coming together, creating memories, and sharing in the vibrant spirit of the festival.
